Joel has over 32 years of experience leasing office, flex, retail and industrial properties, mainly in the Houston area. Joel opened TIG’s Houston office in January, 2010, with a number of significant office and flex properties in The Woodlands and Galleria markets. Since then, he has grown the portfolio by over 30 percent.
Prior to joining TIG, Joel spent six years at RM Crowe, overseeing the Houston Office Leasing Division with its portfolio of over three million square feet of office, flex, and retail properties. Under Joel’s leadership, the portfolio increased by 14 percent and attained a 92 percent average occu¬pancy in four of the five properties. During this time, Joel leased four distressed properties to levels resulting in the property’s sale. He further stabilized the portfolio by leasing over 30,000 square feet in a 120,000-square-foot retail property.
Joel was also a top producer with PM Realty Group for 12 years. As a Senior Vice President he demonstrated an exemplary record of producing profitable increases in difficult markets. He handled all leasing for a portfolio that controlled typically one and one-half million square feet of office space including well known assets such as River Oaks Bank Building, Five Post Oak Park, 1177 West Loop South, Arena Place I and II, and the Highlands Insurance Building.
Joel was a Vice President for Fuller Commercial Brokerage in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio in the 1980s; he headed Fuller’s office leasing division in Dallas and San Antonio, and represented 17 Dallas/Fort Worth properties for lease and sale for the Resolution Trust Corpo¬ration.
Joel is a licensed real estate broker in Texas and has served on the board of directors of the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance. A native of Michigan, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Oakland University.
